How Scurqanelix handles your data | Privacy Policy
How Scurqanelix collects, uses and protects your personal information.
What information we collect and why
Scurqanelix collects personal information that you provide directly — such as your name and email address when you sign up for our newsletter or create an account — and information generated through your use of the product, such as research notes and queries entered into your workspace. We collect this information to provide and improve the Scurqanelix service, to communicate with you about updates and relevant content, and to ensure the security of your account.
We do not collect sensitive financial information such as account numbers, portfolio values or trading history unless you choose to enter such information directly into your research workspace. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your research content to generate signals or recommendations for other users. Our data practices are governed by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
How we use and protect your information
The personal information we hold is used solely for the purposes for which it was collected: delivering the Scurqanelix service, communicating with you about your account or our newsletter, and improving the product based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns. We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
We take the security of your information seriously. Scurqanelix uses industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest, and access to personal data within our organisation is restricted to those who need it to perform their role. We review our security practices regularly and update them in response to emerging risks. If you have concerns about the security of your information, please contact us at privacy@scurqanelix.com.
Your rights and how to exercise them
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request that it be corrected or deleted, to object to certain types of processing, and to request that we restrict our use of your data in specific circumstances. You also have the right to data portability — to receive a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@scurqanelix.com.
If you believe we have not handled your personal information in accordance with applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection supervisory authority. We would, however, always welcome the opportunity to address your concerns directly before you approach the ICO, and we commit to responding to any privacy enquiry within the timeframes required by law.
